HAWLEY BEARCAT BOYS WIN GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Hawley Boys won the Hawley Invitational held on February 15th. They won
the meet by 60 strokes with a team total of 362 strokes. Due to the challenge the Tangle Oaks back nine presents, they were very pleased with their win. The four boys scored as follows: Wes Bartlett- 89, Boone Dugan-89, Josh Winegeart- 91, Randall Storey-93.

The boys’ team will be playing again at Hawley on February 22nd.

HAWLEY TENNIS

The Hawley Tennis Team did a great job Thursday, February 16th, at the Jim Ned Tennis Tournament. There were ten schools in the tournament and this was the first tournament for Hawley this season.
Aaron McKnight and Julia Martinez placed 1st in Mixed Doubles
Jennifer Gaston and Mercedes Ortega placed 3rd in Girls Doubles
Blake Minatra and Danielle Ybarra won Consolation in Girls Doubles
Brody Powell won Consolation in Boys Singles
Great Job to all the tennis players for supporting the Hawley Bearcats!

HAWLEY GIRLS AND BOYS WIN HAWLEY BEARCAT POWERLIFTING MEET

The Hawley Bearcat Powerlifting Invitational meet was held Saturday, February 4, 2006. The Hawley boys team placed 1st out of 8 teams. Anson placed 2nd, Graham 3rd, Coleman 4th, Jim Ned 5th, Ballinger 6th, Hermleigh 7th and Stamford 8th.

Individual medalists for the boys were as follows:

114’s – Rodney Rud, 1st.
123’s – Kyle Sloan, 1st
Matt Penney, 4th
132’s – Nathan Sharp, 1st
Michael Pence, 2nd
Zane Masavage, 3rd
148’s – Seth Lockwood, 1st
Josh Winegeart, 3rd

165’s – Josh Stevens, 2nd
181’s – Billy Penney, 1st
198’s – Jon Hardesty, 4th
220’s – Kyle Mooney, 2nd
Rick Katz, 3rd

Outstanding Lightweight Lifter was Nathan Sharp, and Outstanding Heavyweight Lifter was Billy Penney.

The girls also won 1st place in the meet. Coleman was 2nd, Jim Ned, 3rd, Hermleigh, 4th, and Graham 5th.
