BRENDON BOUNDS REGION 1-AA CHAMP
Brendon Bounds, a Hawley High School senior, won the Region
1-AA Cross Country meet held at Mae Simmons Park, Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday, November 4, 2006. His time was 16:11.68. He won the meet by a considerable distance. The second place finish had a time of 17:08.59.
Brendon will be competing at the State Cross Country meet held Saturday, November 11, 2006 in Round Rock. This is the fourth time Brendon will be competing at the state meet. He has qualified for the state meet all throughout his high school career.
The Hawley Bearcat Cross Country team placed 7th at the meet. Bobby Schaefer placed 54th with a time of 19:05.30. Kevin Harp was 63rd with a time of 19:30.69. Rodney Rud was 70th with a time of 19:41.80, and Kyle Compton was 74th with a time of 19:49.63. Justin Bristow was 86th with a time of 20:12.90. There were 157 runners at the regional meet.
