Hawley Lady Cat vs C-City Lady Wolves

The Hawley Lady Cats got their district season off to a great start Tuesday night with a 16-1 win over the Colorado City Lady Wolves. The wolves’ only score came in the top of the first. With the bases loaded freshman pitcher PeeWee Burton came through for the lady cats with her second strikeout of the inning to halt the lady wolves’ scoring for the remainder of the game. “The girls really backed me up with their excellent defensive plays. We came together as a team. We hit all the way through the lineup this was the key to the win.” Burton commented. The bats were definitely hot for the Lady cats. They had 5 doubles (PeeWee Burton-2, Heather Cobb-1, Chelsea Phillips-2) and a triple (Stacia Guerrero). Overall the Lady cats had 13 hits scoring four runs in the first, five runs in the third and seven runs in the fourth in a game shortened by the ten run rule. The Lady Cats will face the Anson Lady Tigers Friday night.
