7th and 8th Action VS Anson

Hawley 7th grade played Anson Thursday and come up with a big win. Hawley's offense and defense both played extremely well, scoring 25 points and giving up 0. The defense was lead by Braden Newcomb, Larry Cribbs, Billy Brosh and Shelby Jones. Offensive standouts were Shelby Jones with six carries for 22 yards and 1 touchdown. Billy Brosh with 2 carries for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. Brett DeVore also had a 63 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Great job and good luck next week.


The Hawley 8th grade played a very good Anson team on Thursday. Just like last year it looked as if the defense's of both teams were going to dominate. No scoring occured until the 3rd quarter, when Anson got on the board first taking a 6 to 0 lead. The Bearcats answered back on a twentyfive yard touchdown run by Daniel Brewer, tieing the score at 6 to 6. In the fourth quarter Hawley took the lead on a 20 yard touchdown run by Kaleb Faulks. Hawley's Levi Miller blocked a punt to set up Hawley's next score. A six yard touchdown run by Daniel Brewer making the final score Hawley 18 Anson 6. The key to this game was the outstanding defensive performance by the entire defense lead by Levi & Earl Miller with fourteen combined solo tackles.
