8th Grade Bearcats vs C-City

Hawley Bearcats 8th grade played a very good Colorado City team on Thursday. This was a very hard fought game by both teams. Hawley scored first on a 7 yard touchdown pass from Tanner Thompson to Kyle Compton. The extra point was no good. Colorado City answered with a score and a two point conversion. Daniel Brewer then returned the kick off ninety-five yards for Hawley's next score, the extra point was no good. C. City came back with a long pass for a touchdown, the two point conversion was good. Daniel Brewer then scored on a eight yard run, and agin the 2 point conversion was no good making the half time score Colorado City 22 Hawley 19. Hawley came out strong in the second half: scoring on a twentysix yard touchdown run by Tanner Thompson and the two point conversion by Kaleb Faulks was good. Daniel Brewer then scored on a 31 yard on a thirtyone yard touchdown run, the extra point was no good. C. City scored on a 75 yard touchdown with 23 seconds left in the game. On side kick was unsuccessful and Hawley was able to run out the clock and take home the Victory with a final score of 33 - 30. Even though the defense gave up 30 points it was a good showing by the defense, going against such a strong offense like Colorado City. Great job and good luck next week.
